Raised ranch home plans maintain the simple and uncluttered characteristics of the ranch style but add a second story.

However there are a few differences between the two styles. Ranch house plans usually rest on slab foundations which help link house and lot. Ranch floor plans are single story patio oriented homes with shallow gable roofs. A few features these houses typically include are low straight rooflines or shallow pitched hip roofs an attached garage brick or vinyl siding and a porch.
